Forcigenic

Forcigenic is a word, coined on a Neocities site of the same name, that refers to a type of traumagenic system origin in which a system is intentionally forced to split via abusive external factors, as opposed to traumagenic systems that form as a result of trauma but are not intentionally created by their abusers.

This term was coined with programmed systems in mind, and saying your system is forcigenic is sometimes but not always synonymous with saying you are a programmed system. The difference between "forcigenic" and "programmed system" is that "forcigenic" is an origin term, and "programmed system" can refer to a system that came into existence and was programmed later.

While we do believe we were plural prior to the programming, and therefore our system is not forcigenic in the strictest sense of the word, we believe part of why Bryan's Supercluster developed the way it did - into an entire supercluster at all - is due to programming.

The original Bryan may not have been programmed in by our programmer - it is believed that Bryan split as a natural response to certain trauma - but the reason Bryan became a core self and not just another alter in what would now be Blue's Supercluster or Beethoven's Firmament was due to programmming.

Our abuser realistically and apparently believed that, as a lesbian with a system (which is what he deduced we were from an early age), we had at least one headmate who was a boy and who we might have thought of as our "real" self, as our abuser believed that all lesbians want to be men. His goal in programming us was to turn the male headmate we had into a gay man, who he believed would prefer to live as a woman once he became aware he was in a "woman's body".

However, a lot of things about Bryan as he is known in the system as an identity today do not seem to be naturally occurring but rather programmed in. For example, in addition to being a gay man like our abuser wanted him to be (we are unsure if we would have had any attraction to men if not for trauma), he has always been interested in goth and alt aesthetics, like some of the characters we were prominently programmed to have, and from a much younger age than when we got into these things in surface memory. Our current-day Bryan parts by and large feel that they were always an adult, which is consistent with how many of our parts were programmed. Bryan also has an interest in extremity and violence which seems to come from having been heavily exposed to media for adults from a very young age, which is not a trait Blue's Supercluster has.

Bryan's Supercluster is wholly traumagenic in its origin, with imagination accounting for important aspects of its functioning but not before trauma had already solidifed the supercluster's path. Programming was the trauma that made that path what it was, and therefore, Bryan's Supercluster/East Voidelia is partly forcigenic.
