Abroplurid
Abrosexuality is an orientation in which one's orientation changes over time. It is not unlike the orientation version of being genderfluid. The definition of abrosexual doesn't specify the reasons an abrosexual person's identity changes, so it can be for any reason at all.
We are a little different than most abro people, to the point where we've held off on using this label for ourselves, in that we do have an orientation that is consistent no matter what, but some of the particulars of how this identity expresses itself changes depending on factors like what gender we are or what relationships we're in.
We are basically wired in a way where we always see ourselves as gay and our attraction as same-gender. That means we are attracted to the genders we perceive ourselves as. This changes when our sense of gender does, however, such as when we were a feminine-aligned lesbian teenager, went to being aroace agender, and eventually discovered we were a non-binary gay man.
The relationships we are in, even if they are not romantic, also affect our sense of identity. For example, our queerplatonic relationship with one of our exes felt more like a butch/femme lesbian relationship than any other kind of relationship, and we considered it a sapphic relationship in a non-binary sense. We thus considered ourselves sapphic during that time.
This is also why we labeled ourselves as cenelian for a long time. A cenelian is someone who is gay for non-binary people, that is a non-binary person (usually) exclusively attracted to non-binary people. However, we are not strictly non-binary and not strictly attracted to non-binary people, so we labled ourselves an mspec cenelian due to our attraction to men persisting, while still having some issues with some ways of framing our identity because, unlike some mspec gay people, we were not attracted to gender categories we didn't consider ourselves a part of.
When we are not in relationships that we consider to have a higher level of devotion than an average close friendship, we consider ourselves a gay man who, romantically-speaking, is only attracted to men or man/masc-aligned non-binary people. We used to factor our queerplatonic relationships with non-binary people into this identity and described ourselves as torenamoric (someone exclusively attracted to men and non-binary people), but we no longer consider our queerplatonic relationships a part of our orientation.
Whether we stay a non-binary non-sapphic non-bi gay man remains to be seen. We hope we do, though, because we know that, in our case, it might not be healthy that relationships alter our identity so much, given that we seem to actively change ourself to be someone our partner will like more. If we remain devoted to Troy and our in-system relationships and don't seek a romantic partner in the outerworld, or get too heavily involved in another queerplatonic relationship, we will stay who we really are and won't become someone new for our partner. We thus use abrosexual as a retroactive label to explain why our identity has changed over time.
